Why I created the Spiritual MBA

Back in 2012, I was a young and ambitious Muslim entrepreneur. I had the dreams of building the next Facebook or Instagram, yet I felt completely isolated and alone in my entrepreneurial journey. Even though I was a practicing Muslim: I prayer 5 times a day (often in the masjid), attended Islamic lectures weekly, performed Hajj and Umrah, etc. There were no resources about how to excel using Islam. How did the previous generations of Muslims achieve so much in the world, while remaining deeply connected to Allah?

With the lack of Islamic support, I devoured all the secular self-improvement programs, the Silicon Valley bro-culture, and the "Fake it till you make it" ideologies. Not only did I not achieve my entrepreneurial goals, I felt more miserable than ever. Disconnected and distant from Allah Subhana wa ta'ala.

I created the Spiritual MBA as a support community to help ambitious Muslims achieve their goals while deepening their faith in Allah Subhana wa ta'ala. For far too long we have been told that we have to choose between our deen and dunya and that is a false choice.
