Meet the TeamÂ
James and Zahra are husband and wife co-founders. Married 17 years they started Practical Muslim 5 years ago.
Zahra Aljabri
Zahra Aljabri is a spiritual coach, writer, award winning entrepreneur, wife and mother of four. She began as a civil rights attorney and won the prestigious Archibold Bush Fellowship for her community work in Minneapolis, MN. In 2012, with her husband James, Zahra founded the world’s first multi-brand modest fashion e-commerce for modest dressers of all faiths. In 2013, Zahra’s startup was selected as one of the top fashion startups by Forbes magazine and won the 2015 $50,000 SheKnows Pitch competition.
Today Zahra empowers successful, bold Muslims to apply the insight of Islam into their day-to-day life. She equips these talented and ambitious leaders to step into the power that is hidden within them. She does this by guiding her clients to change their mindset, beliefs and behavior. Her approach results in astounding personal transformation.
James Faghmous
James H. Faghmous, Ph.D. is a four-time chief dad officer and four-time entrepreneur. Prior to starting Practical Muslim, James was an award-winning scientist, researcher, and speaker having lectured on every continent on artificial intelligence, machine learning, and entrepreneurship.
In 2016, while being chief technology officer at NYC’s largest health system, James quit his job with no plan B to focus full time on spiritual development and reaching his highest potential. Since then, James has helped others gain independence from their jobs and attain success in creating more abundance in their lives. James’ life goal is help Muslims live beyond a mediocre job and average life to help create the Muslim Serena Williams, Steve Jobs, or J.K Rowling — generational defining talent that uses Islam as a source of inspiration to do more as opposed to settle for less.
